After discussion with several board members, it is safe to say our attendee list is nearly locked down to DZX and their related partners. This is due to only having 2 hotel rooms and comfort levels for all.

Well, if we suppose only the bare minimum of people are going (say, 6), and we just use one room, then that'd only be roughly $36.60/person (figuring in a bit for tax) for two nights. If we have two rooms and AZ and P-wolf can come, then that'd be $55/person (once more, for two nights) with us each chipping in. More people, even less.

I think it's still doable. But if ya have doubts Woofles, then maybe I can put it on my card. Though with such a long distance it'd become quite important that I make it. ^_^;;

Yeeeerp yeeeeerp, it really isn't that expensive after you divide the cost up between everyone. Heck, I'd even chip in more than my share to lighten the load if need be ;D

Well to preemptively cut off any complaining about having to pay for our hotel room.

1- Anything you buy at Detour is double the price then what it is anyplace else usually. So just remove one purchase from your weekend.

2- A large portion of the DZX crew is now rather financially secure compared to previous years when we were in college. So affording the rooms shouldn't be a pain.

But. 6 people or more, I'm going to say two rooms is a must. Trust me, the DZX crew learned our first time at Acen that 1 bathroom = epic bad.

And to go along with what Zacloud said. Day 1 that con reservations and pre-registration opens, we should get all of that done immediately.

Also, I was talking to revolutionaryjo from the Detour crew about the new hotel. Its apparently about a half hour away from the previous hotel and is more in the St Paul area. The benefit of this is that it shaves about a half hour off of our trip, and more importantly eliminates the most annoying part of our trip (the longest 12.4 miles of city driving ever).

On another note. One more suggestion I want to make is kind of in light to what happened to me the morning of Detour. We should establish who's going to drive us to the con, and then also have one back up car & driver in the event that one of the drivers becomes too ill to attend or for any other major circumstances.

I make this suggestion obviously due to the delightful case of mono I ended up having. If I would have been a driver this year, the whole trip would have been in slight FUBAR.

Its great to see everyones hard work paying off. Its definetly relaxing to be able to have that flexibility to fully enjoy the con, food, merch, ect., without worrying about every dollar you spend. Money comes and goes, but con memories last a lifetime!

That being said, we are preparing for Detour earlier than ever this time, so there should be no excuses for lack of preparedness in the cash department! (Im lookin at you waffles!)

EDIT: Im also lookin at you, AZ! And so is the rest of DZX... <_< We miss your drunken antics!

Hmm... I just talked with the AVG Club President and said the club is really struggling this semester. They currently do not have an advisor and only had 12 somewhat interested signatures.

With him graduating this semester and the next capable person graduating in the spring semester, the club is likely to become extinct. He also talked of MSTC potentially selling the game consoles, DDR, and other supplies.

Tisk. After all my work to create and run such an insanely fun club (anime conventions, pizza, video games... anyone?), its going down.

Awwww.... That really sucks. Wonder why more folks haven't jumped on it; anime and funtimes with fellow fans is something that nothing else can truly substitute for. It really is sad to see something like that collapsing... Cuz heck, I would have done ANYTHING to have had such a club in my school, or anywhere around here for that matter. Seeing people take that for granted is downright tragic.
