Well, if we're ending up with two rooms we'd still be fine, only two people on the floor right? Or is there only one room funded for all of us now?
(And yes I'm at a loss too, that's just... gah! Detour is made of awesome and win, they totally shoulda jumped on the bandwagon. @_@ Seeing folks passing up on such fun is mind-boggling)

One hotel room is paid for... and the other one we will have to split the costs in some fashion.
So yeah, there would only be a couple people on the floor if we did that.

Hey guys. I just have a question. Dave, when/what time is the AVG club leaving? I believe it is the morning of April 4th. I will take off of work that day if this is the case.
On another note, I may not be able to cosplay this year as I just bought a new(er) car. But I will see what I can do about buying merchandise. Hopefully this year I can expand my manga collection.

Well, in my opinion, we could do it this way: The club isn't paying for one room, but instead half of both rooms. In other words, we take the total for half of both rooms (or more simply, one room... "Cut it in half, then double it!"), and everyone chips in equally enough to pay for it (unless exceptions need to be made depending on folks' circumstances and individual financial ability/possible generosity). So there we'd go, everyone chips in some, in exchange for all da good times.
Just an idea at least.
Oh, and Sephy n Crono, the deadline for submitting AMVs for the contest is MARCH 3rd!!! That's one week from me posting this! If you haven't sent 'em in, get 'em sent!
(The WTF contest, on the other hand, can be hand-delivered Friday at the convention, though of course can also be sent in beforehand as well, but the deadline is further off)

total split costs would be $10.20 per person going since we have 10 confirmed attendees.
the $60 funded gas bucks would probably be just enough to fuel one of our cars for the round trip. that leaves 2 more cars to fuel. that be a total split between all attendees or just the people who ride in the unfunded cars?

Yes, we will be leaving that Friday morning. The time will be determined when we get closer (last year it was 7-8am). I will be requesting off from work as well. Thanks for the reminder. I will get it sent shortly. ;D Well... since it will be cash, think we should give each vehicle $20 or just have one vehicle paid for? I'll ask the club what it determines best for funding and get back to you with actual monetary figures. The next meeting is in March, so it will be a little while. |

Well we are t-minus one month and counting to Anime Detour.
Now that we have our official headcount for the con, (which Id like someone to post here in response) I think we should start getting our transportation arrangements all set.
Redwolf, assuming he was included in our headcount, is already in Minnesota so thats one less body we have to transport. So we could probably get everyone into two vehicles (pending on the Mid State people as well).

Sure, it would save a little on fuel costs...but I doubt it would be possible given the luggage situation. Where is the capsule technology from DBZ when we need it?

Well, I thought I remember Crono mention the AMV Club people may need to provide transport for themselves if necessary, but i'll talk to him further about that. I was probably thinking the DZX-direct people (hey that has a ring to it) could probably ride together .

Anyways, if rides work out like last year (assuming Sqiky wants to drive again) it could be Sithius/Sephy/Crono/Waffles in one car (aka the 'what has science done plz god make it stop' car)... and Sqiky/Zacloud/Wondersaiyan could ride in another car (aka the 'why is wondersaiyan in this car even though she's still falling down that hole' car). But we'll see. Thus why I brought up peepz and der ridez! -EDIT- Also, this is for Crono  I gotta car.... |

Yaiz for company while falling!! Welcome, Waffles! Anyway... I know for a fact that Sqiky does not wish to drive this year. And given all he did for us last year (mainly ZC and myself, but still...) methinks he is entitled to take a break from the driver's seat. Also, why assume when you can just ASK? Y'all live fairly close and last I knew you peeps knew how to use a phone  Also also, methinks Waffles should be exempt from driving this year as well. If he really wants to, fine and dandy, but doesn't he already have a fairly long drive from Kenosha just before the con? tsk, tsk Sephy....trying to weasel your way outta maybe driving, lol ;D |
