alright, i called the detour hotels. the ramada was indeed sold out, but there's another hotel right next door, the marriot. I immediatly reserved 3 rooms for 2 nights, each with 2 double beds. i'm not sure if they'll all be next to eachother, but i did request it. the con rate is $103 per night i can always cancel or change these reservations if needed. but that's the news i have for now. go, discuss. UPDATE 1 Since registration is over, I'll start putting together a list of peoples just to keep track. Correct me if I miss anyone. Sephy Crono Sithius Waffles RedWolf Zacloud WonderSaiyan Sqiky 2 shady outsiders we picked up off the street (AVG club members  ) UPDATE 2 CURRENT CONVENTION PLAN - On Friday, April 4th, meet at the WR MSTC campus parking lot at 7:00am (sharp)
- Ross – Since you mentioned you can drive, you will be taking Ryan in your car. Fuel money will be provided to you by the club (and possibly me).
- Ryan – Please either have Ross pick you up or be dropped off at 7:00am with your supplies.
- We need to leave early to ensure parking space at the hotel.
- Other attendees – coordinate who can bring a couple sleeping bags. There will not be enough beds.
- There will be a short meeting in the parking lot with the other attendees.
- Phone numbers and driving directions will be distributed. It is about four hours of travel.
- AC will be leading the group of cars out of Wisconsin Rapids and into Minnesota.
- There will probably be a break in between for food and/or rest.
- April 4 – 5: ANIME CONVENTION STUFF
- Pro-tip: Take SEVERAL showers while at the convention. You will smell (no exceptions).
- April 6: Pack up our supplies/purchased items and travel back to Wisconsin Rapids. We will be arrive between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

Alrighty...
The next step for all of us is to be registered for the con... and preferably before the year's end (which is pretty soon).
The final number of attendees will need to be calculated that include the AVG club. Those numbers cannot be confirmed until next semester with the possibility of more convention-ees. At that time, we will determine if we need two or three rooms.

this is a reminder to everyone who hasn't done so yet. $30 registration for the con ends on the new year. register before jan 1st otherwise it's gonna be $40. registration now made easier with detour's new online reg system. you can pay instantly with a credit or debit card rather than sending in a check or money order. I did it and it works fine, they charge you're card immediately rather than waiting until the last minute like i know some places do. so uh, do it! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Confirmed for Brawl... err, Detour!  Online Reggie is the way to go... especially since the 31st is a Monday. I got the confirmation screen, but will post again when I see it on my bank statement. --------------- edit: It was posted on my bank statement on 12/31/07. Looks like its all good. |

Ok guys. I've got good news and then some more news. The good news is that I am registered for AD now. The other news is that I don't know if I'll be able to drive to the con again. My car is having issues right now. I may be getting a new car soon, but that's unlikely.

im obviously willing to drive since I have a new car as well, except my car's a 2 door with a little less breathing room in it. So if we wanted to have space for all our stuffs both before and after the con, we would need to keep my car to 2 or 3 people at maximum.
Also there is one reason I may not want to drive, or at least not take my car. I've found out that my car is most likely going to be needed as transportation for my family when we go to my uncles wedding in Michigan -_- which is a 9 hour drive and is either the weekend after Detour or the 2nd weekend after. So coupled with the 3 1/2 hour drives for detour is about 26 hours of total driving (yes I know ZC and WS have done longer trips, but I'm not used to doing first-hand long distance driving yet)
So I'm still very willing to drive to detour, but I'll just raise my hand and say that if I can get around it I'll take it.

X, update us when you can confirm the date you are going to Michigan. Also, does that mean you are driving your family with just your car or are they also taking their normal vehicle?
So far we have (more or less) lost our transportation that was used last year it seems (Waffles and Sithius). I am still open to drive, but I am only one car.
The MSTC club is taking a while to confirm who is going. At this time, there are four (including me) confirmed and registered, while others are not decided yet. I sent an email to all members today reminding them of the urgency.
