This certainly looks to be the new Daisho 2011 thread. I'm surprised this wasn't up yet since many of us plan to attend usually (its in our backyard... SRSLY).
I'm already expecting at least 8-9 of us. And that's a low estimate~
Yes, post 1 needs some spice. Room party a must. Projectors are nice. Panel suggestions? DZX Does Con? How to Make AMVs That Don't Suck? DMC/Godzilla Panel? Stuff! Rave!

Reservations made today. Since it was over the phone, I don't have complete overall costs for each room until I can check the confirmation numbers (unavailable at the website at this time). Website Daisho rates were last year and they will be contacting the admin to update for this year. Double bed expects >=4 people, thus its at the quad rate. If you are/aren't attending, post. If you want a room, post. If you are attending the convention, post. Post, post, post~

I plan on staying both nights, do need a bed.
If I recall right, the party room (suite) even has a magical bed that swings down from the wall, plus extra floorspace.
I've seen first-hand what happens to a room containing Sephy and Seority-- a wardrobe closet explosion. That's why it is closed.
Oh, and I'm more of a John Candy than Steve Martin...

I want to go but i want to make sure i have a room split with some one before i register. I really don't care my sleeping conditions as long as i have a place to sleep. Floor, bathtub, chair, i really don't care. Hope to see you all there.

Was thinking like, along with making Sephy do his Gojira panel again, we could like make a "What if..." nerd panel.
Even though I'm not as nerdy as some other nerds on here, I still have fun asking silly questions that have no real answer. Things like "Who would win a fight? Picard or Kirk? Locutus or Darth Vader? Cthulhu or Godzilla? Who from -insert nerd series here- would you have be the priest at your wedding?" or even "What if time travel was possible? What would the world be like today if light sabers were real? What would the world be like now if nerds ran it?"
It would be a silly discussion panel that most of us could host. We could get a funny slideshow going and have it open for other suggestions. I seem to have a lot more fun at discussion panels then informative ones anyway.
I dunno~ Sounds like it could be fun. Anyone else interested?

So... if anybody didn't know yet, the Ramada that hosts Daisho will be closing its doors on Sunday, October 30th. A super sudden decision, but that clearly means Daisho needs to relocate for this year.
Stay tuned to the website for new details and hotel plans.

Updated hotel info.
The village suite will be reserved when available. This is a big space that we rarely (if never) have gotten before... so lots of possibilities in the space.
SqiKy might try for some epic meal time in the kitchen since the fridge, oven, and pots are all available. Spaghetti would be an awesome con food otherwise! Would chef AZ be available for shenanigans?
No exact price has been given, but expect ~$70 per person based on Daisho rates + fees + tax.
