Just letting everyone know, I'll be going with Mom to Maryland for a buncha undercover work with a small team next week Tuesday on, 18th-probably the 23rd or so. I might pop onto Yahoo once in a while if there's time, but probably not much. I'll definitely still check the board on the laptop though cuz I ALWAYS find time for that. :3

Heh, went to take out the trash, and I saw a dog out by the trash cans. A big (for the breed) Boston Terrier. I carefully put the bag aside and knelt and called to him. He came running eagerly and proceeded to cover my face in slobber, as well as into my mouth since I was talking to him, ptlpbptpblppp! lol! Anyways, luckily he had a collar, tags, and license. His name was Diesel. Awesome name! I let him inside so I wouldn't lose track of him. He sauntered right in without hesitation. I looked up his address on Google Maps and it was only a couple blocks down. But I got the direction wrong while walking and he got scared by a big dog a little (but kept getting close cuz a chihuahua seemed to like him). But the dog's owner told me the right way to the street, so I got going, carrying the guy so he wouldn't keep staying with the chihuahua forever. He'd been following me quite well up until then, but just to be safe I figured I'd better leash him. Good ol' providence, I found an old rope that was just the right length half-embedded in the dirt of the dirt road from when it was mud. Tied that on and off we went. Found the street, then when we were almost to the house, a whole buncha people were standing around outside of it, and one man was on the phone. Soon as he saw me, he said "THAT'S who we were looking for! Here he is, never mind!" and he quickly came to retrieve the little guy. He and a woman thanked me, to which I said no problem; I needed the exercise. He asked me where he'd gone "this time" and a few things, then took little Diesel inside. I feel good for helping out, though have slight misgiving due to Diesel looking a tad nervous rather than overjoyed to be home. I hope they don't do anything more than scold him, though really any punishment would only make a dog run away more, and be less likely to wanna go home. But, they had invested in an official license and everything, which maybe only 5% of pet owners can afford to do around here, and he's very well fed with clean breath, so they have to care at least that much. Plus with him calling around, yeah, he'll most likely be just fine. Anyways, back to paper-work. ^_^;;

No worries, they gave us our info now. Even though the hotel's in a different town than the store we're assigned to... @_@ But hey, more travel pay for us. Though it will waste time and make taking-breaks harder. Oh well. It's not TOO far, could be worse.

Ok... Now, in terms of what Mom purchased, I know what GPS stands for...
Goddamn Piece of Shit!
8 and a half hours of driving.
We are tired. And I have paperwork to do when I'm so ready to sleep.
What a great start. @_@ Have a better day than we've had, please.

OMG elaborate on the GPS!!! I was gonna get one of the same unit but I'm gonna change mah mind and prolly go with gold old magellan maestro, however they changed mapping providers I think so I dunno how good they are now.
They do have some good features like the auto route suggest if you are going to slow it will think you are in construction delays so it'll plot a new route for you. I like that. They don't fill thier units with useless bloat, only they have good navagation (so far as 2007-08) but I don't know how good thier 2009 units are since They redid thier system.
garmins are out of the question since they "new and improved" thier routing engine and it is total crap now. it itemises roads too much and sends you 3 more miles away just to put you on the right side of the road of your destination. I'd rather cross cut to get sooner then be stuck in more red lights.
Navigon is overkill and they have too much useless features and it babys you and tells you exactly how to drive and they cost like 700 bucks! Might as well get a net/notebook and put GPS software and a dongle on it and be better off!
MIO is pretty good and it has media stuff
sony's are good since they have guestures to control things so it's more driver friendly, but the directions are overitemised like garmin and it routes too aggressiveley sometimes.

personally i just plan out my routes ahead of time and always have a good old analog map in my car. it's worked fine so far and i plan on continuing my outdated practices for the foreseeable future.
i'm currently enjoying my last day off for the rest of august. there are 4 employees (including me) that work as building managers at the student union on campus. 3 of them are becoming RA's when school starts and need to take a couple weeks off for training. that leaves just me. my boss(s) dragged their feet and didn't hire anyone new for these weeks, leaving just me to work all the shifts. so as of tomorrow, i'll be working every weekday from 4pm to 10 or 12pm, and every weekend from 8am to 9 or 12pm. at least it'll give me a nice fat paycheck, but bye bye freetime.
