Anime Detour 2007

Hey everyone, I guess I'll be taking over the planning for Detour this year. And when it comes to me and organization, I'm kinda strict. So when I need information from people, I WILL get it on time. This time nothing will be last minute, in fact, I may end up setting a deadline for plans. Anyways, now that I'm done being an ass, I'll move along.

Room Prices:

Sponsered by the fantastically funded MSTC Anime Club that Crono and Sephy start, so we won't worry about that anymore. For that, you will grovel at their feet and beg for acceptance or you shall prerish.


Time Table:

-6:00 am: Sqiky and party leave Madison for Rapids
-7:30 am: We all meet up at Crono's place to form the DZX Convoy of OMGTMA! (OMG Too Many Awesomes!)
-7:50 am: DZX members go to MSTC and meet up with club peoples.
-8:00 am: Convoy leaves for Detour...the insanity begins
-Trip is 3.5 to 4 hours long
-12:00 pm (noon): Arrive at detour, let the squeeing commence

-Noon Friday to Noon Sunday: Con time, yay.

-12:00 pm (noon): Checkout time for our rooms, we have to have our stuff packed and in the vehicles by then.

-Noon is our tentative time of departure from Detour, I have class the next day, this may be the case with a couple other people too.

Please tell me if you have if any of you have obligations for Monday, because if I can get out of class by either calling in sick or making up an excuse to not be there, we may be able to hang around the con longer on Sunday. Although this means driving back to Rapids in the dark.

Added Sithius to the list and updated the room costs.

This one added body to the list now pushes my thought of "maybe one room will be enough" to "yes, we need two rooms" I'll still keep the single room prices up though.

Yes two rooms I think are a supreme must, especially considering the unnecessary waits some of the people the non-DZX roomies at ACen gave us.

You can most definately count me in. But I'd for sure like to get a meeting of the local DZX-members in person about this either when we're all on Thanksgiving vacation or Christmas vacation. That way we can settle all of these matters very early and get pre-registrations in very ahead of schedule.

A lot will depend on whether or not I get another job, what my boss will arrange for my current one those weeks, etc. It's a long ways into the future so I can't be absolutely certain. But, if there's even the remotest chance of squeezing it in, I'm DEFINITELY in. And I ain't comin' without Annette if I have to go to Mooly Mart myself and tell off the yellow smilie-face thing! ;D

we have a problem. well, me and AZ have a problem. In the past, Detour fell on the final weekend of spring break for us. well, since all UW system schools have the same basic schedule, me and AZ are in the same boat. which brings me to the problem. Detour falls on the weekend AFTER our spring break ends. :/

So how does this bode for you guys? Does this mean you will not be able to make it then? Or does this merely constitute another "leave early Sunday morning" type situation? Since you guys are planning this thing so far ahead of schedule this year, will you be able obtain homework/test information and complete said assignments ahead of time? Just trying to help...

In other news, here is my 100% certified, set in stone, rock-solid, Plan of Uber Pwnage. I will be rooming with the rest of DZX in thir 2 rooms (or one room?) UNLESS I can save up enough money to comfortably afford a room of my own. We have a 5 month window here, so I will let you know what happens until then.

In other news, theres a possibility I would be able to drive for this con and carry some our stuff/people. Hit me up on Yahoo if you want to chat about the plans for Detour '07.

Well for Crono and myself Anime Detour falls on the last three days of our spring break (meaning we have the whole week off leading up to it) meaning basically I'm going to Detour ;D nomatter what!!!

BUT considering how times for things work out for my schedule this could endanger me when it comes to going to Anime Central. Since that may fall dangerously close to the due dates for final projects and stuff for my spring semester classes.

OK everyone, this is really important. Detour is about 5 months away, i know it sounds like a long time but its not when it comes to planning stuff. Ive been busy with school stuff and what not and have yet to find a source of income. so unless all of our money and transportation problems can be magically solved right now, i think ill have to turn over the planning to someone that actually knows that they are going. anyone that wont procrastinate willing to take over?

You've been a great coordinator, and I dont think lack of funding should be grounds for relieving you of that duty. You've kicked our asses into gear to start planning for the trip early which is commendable.

However, if you want to pass power onto another, I suggest the new "leader" be someone who is either:
A: Driving
or B: Reserving the hotel rooms.

This person covers transportation and/or lodging, essentially making everyone else a tag-along. With that said, theres a good possibility that I will be driving this year, as I would not only like to drive for sheer enjoyment reasons, but also relieve AZ of the burden of carrying 7 people in the van. Im not nominating myself here, but thats just my 2 cents.


Sooooo, anyways. How about some real planning then? I'll start with the route.

1st wave: wonder_saiyan and Zacloud

Its up to you girls to decide how to get here, but be warned that you should probably leave a day early, as the trip could end up being almost 8 hours to the next stop. @_@ And unless you want to add another 2 hours on top of the already long trip, you're gonna have to go through Chicago and Milwaukee to get to ...

2nd wave: Waffle King

Since Waffles is sans-transportation at the moment, you will probably want to pick him up on the way. Afterwards, continue West until you reach...

3rd wave: SqiKy_kLeen

Once you get here, we will park your car in my garage, (so you don't get towed), then we will carpool in my car (to alleviate you of more driving) and head Northwest to meet up with...

4th wave: AC, AZ, and X

We will meet up with the guys there, get traveling arrangements squared away, get everything packed into 2 vehicles, then its onto...

5th wave: Anime Detour

Registration is only $30 if you do it before January 1st, 2007, so hurry up and get mailing!

I would also like to go to Detour. If a driver is needed, I can take 4 people + myself with enough for everyone. Let me know of other details if any. I need to give at least a 2-week notice of taking off of work before going it shouldn't be a problem if it was a 1-week notice. Anyways, let me know of any other details if any.

Thank you for the offer. A lot of it is going to depend on which vehicles we can get together for the convention. The same guy has been driving us every year, running his van into the ground. I really don't want to make him drive again. But, just in case we do have access to the van, all we will need is that, and a car (which would be mine).

So it would have to be either the Van and 1 car or 3 cars, which in that case, we may take up your offer.
