blaaaaah, update. i did some reading. looks like the group discount isn't just for groups of people, it has to be an accredited school organization. here's the rules directly from the site:
Group memberships will be restricted this year to student groups from accredited middle schools, high schools, and universities. (If you're homeschooling, e-mail us.) The $5 discount will be in effect, as will the following conditions: # There must be at least 10 students in the group at the time of registration. # The application must contain a letter on school letterhead from the school principal, student activities coordinator, or club sponsor identifying the group as part of an officially recognized school organization. # A responsible adult or chaperone 18 years of age or older must accompany the group and be named in the school letter. This chaperone will be held responsible for the behavior of the group, to include briefing them on convention policies. The chaperone will be required to pick up badges for the group. # Badges will be marked with the group's name.
since there are less than 10 people (as far as i know) going that are actually part of the MSTC Anime & Video Game Club, im not sure if it will work out. then there's the hoops you have to jump through to be able to register. looks like we're all registering on our own. >.<

ka-bump for a reason. To everyone going to Detour, $35 registration ends on the 31st of this month! If you haven't registered already, do so now before it jumps up to $40 at the beginning of the new year! As long as the payment is postmarked by December 31, then the $35 still holds. Don't wait, do it before time runs out. BTW, just to remind all of you, I believe Detour will be oh so full of awesomes this year with all of you going!

Thankfully I think this will be the last year the con will be held at the Thunderbird.

another bump. $30 registration has come and gone, it is now $40 untill the middle of Febuary. after that you'll have to register at the door for $50 and wait in a line. if you havent registered already, i urge you to do so very very soon.

I sent my registration the last possible mail day of 2006...so hopefully I made it in time. I'll see if my January bank statement shows they cashed it.

Crono, I don't think they actually cash the check until con time is at hand, but you should get an email or something at some point. Also, is there a way to confirm how many club members are attending for sure? Sqiky, I'll be posting the registered list...ummm...how about now?

alrighty, sqiky has informed me that his registration check has been cashed. this means they've started processing registrations, so start checking your mail for a card. and if you haven't registered yet...well then get on it!!! you only have a little less than 3 more weeks to register before you have to play $50 at the door.

Blaaah... I was having too much blahness to realize how many days were passing before, and missed the $30 deadline. But it was probably a good thing otherwise I wouldn't have been able to pay my water bill in time. But now, I'm none the richer and won't be for who knows how long... so I dunno if I can pull off the $40 one or not either, cuz now I have more bills nearing due date... Durn jobstuff and moneystuff. Messin' with conventionstuff. I'll still find a way to come, somehow, as it simply must happen. Still... blah...

There has been a change of OH SHI- proportions! AZ's roommate is moving out and leaving him with all the bills to pay, which is an extra $250 tacked on to what he's already paying. This means he officially can't afford detour, wherein lies the bad news. AZ's van was going to be our primary mode of transportation. It being his parent's van, he can't lend it out. X and AC's vehicles aren't in good enough shape to trust on a long trip like that. That leave's Sqiky's car (whom him, WS, and Zaclould will be taking), and mine. Although this may still be enough room for people and stuff, it boils down to drivers. I don't think I can drive to Minneapolis for one reason...I'm a bad driver. -_-() I'm ok with simple directions and places I frequent, but when it comes to long trips and places I've never driven before, them I tend to make mistakes. Sooooooooo....this calls for a new plan. Any suggestions? Here's one that I have quickly thrown together. Assuming WS and Zacloud are crashing at Sqiky's the day before and after the con to alleviate some driving stress, I on the friday it starts we all meet up at Sqiky's and divvy up passengers and cargo between us. How does this sound? Also, who wants to drive?

If need be, I can offer to drive 3 - 4 people. I say 3 - 4 cuz we may need the room for luggage. Also, since I am emptying just about all the money out of my bank account to go to A.D., if anyone needs some $$ spotted, I can lend a hand. Of course, there will be a interest rate of 100000000000000%!!!!! Just kidding. I'd be richer than Bill Gates. Like they say, a dream is wonderful because it is only a dream. Anyways, I can spot a ride and $$ if needed. Can't wait to see you guys there!

We'll be needing at least one vehicle or driver for the anime club people so far. Theres about 4 or 5 that say they want to go. I put the final deadline for them to register by February 22nd and come with us.
