Music Mixes

Heeeeey all!

I did a stupid buncha music mixing nobody's gonna care about!

(No, seriously, I'm completely not expecting anyone to check 'em out so it's fine)

But I'm posting anyway!

The song "New Divide" by Linkin Park is, of course, quite win. But it felt short (even though it's not) and I felt it could be extended.

So I randomly opened Premiere and BeSweet and started on an extended mix... In the middle of the night... In the middle of a very big work week...

...Random obsession can suck for one's health but I couldn't sleep till it was done! Except then I couldn't cuz WORK!

*Ahem* Anyway... Worked on it. But then I kept finding neat potential harmonies/layers and couldn't decide which ones I liked better... So I made versions with various combinations.

So, here's the product of zero sleep and 60 fps editing still not being 100% precise enough for lining up beats. Argh!

It's got all of 'em, and a readme to help determine which you might like. I do NOT recommend sitting down and listening to them all; it'll wear out the song. Just pick one, or have 'em on eventual shuffle on a long playlist to try a different one each time spread out, or something like that... OR NOTHING!

Edit: It seems a good method is to skip straight to the XxXtended Mix. If you like it, yay! If you think "That's a little too much" then you can pick a less-complex version based on what you liked or didn't like about the big one.

Enjoy if you do check it out. If not, oh well.

I'll definitely let you know what I think once I get my headphones back from work for a close listen. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My normal speakers are great for general use and listening, but nothing compared to my headphones for for audio/video sync listening. I'll also spread out the samplings to find my favorite one since I still listen to the song daily and its already in my playlist!

Urgh, might've already noticed a timing booboo when playing it on my car CD player (It sounded fine in editing AND countless listens on the computer... Blaaaargh!) If it is indeed the case I'll fix it and re-release. Blaaaaaaaaaaargh, hope it was just the CD skipping (I have a cheap batch that had imperfections in the data foil so that's somewhat possible... can't double-check right now cuz on my mom's craptop about to go to bed).

I got a creative audigy 2 soundcard that has some wicked surround emulation for stereo sources and windows media player 11 with the SRS wow on and kickass logitec 5.1 speakers with a woofer almost the size of my computer. and a house to live in instead of an apartment so I can blast it all I want!

Well... I guess the car CD player had a hair in it, and my comp chops audio sometimes (It's soooo weak!)... Cuz I cannot find a missed timing this time. I tried to fix it in Premiere, and it sounded like it was the source's problem. But then no matter how perfectly I lined up the waveforms, it still sounded off. But then I re-listened to the already-done versions and they sounded fine when my comp had nothing else open.

Sooooo.... as far as I can tell they're at least passable. If anyone has second opinions lemme know, chances are your playing platforms are better than mine.

Oh and to answer your earlier question AC, yes, if there can be a page that'd be awesome (and maybe for my "Love is Over" mixy too). What specs should I use? (Feel free to Yahoo-poke me, I should be on it most of today and tomorrow)
