Heeeeya guys... Here's a spot to try out codes and stuff. I mean sure, there is the Preview function... but I wanna see what kinds of codes and fonts work for most or all people, not just me.
Feel free to view in different browsers, and please report your findings.
First off, I found a good Gil currency symbol. Seems to be very touchy about working though. After installing Japanese keyboard mapping on my comp, it seems my Fixedsys font is now Japanese-only, so I had to get an emulated Fixedsys font called Excelsior (which doesn't work as well as some other one I use instead).
But in case it happens to work like Fixedsys, which all comps most likely have, I wanna see if the symbol shows up or not. The board can create it on my screen, but not Yahoo messenger. And the board makes a very odd code string. But, here goes... It should look like a capital letter G with a horizontal line coming from the top and bottom:
₳300 (like $300 but with the G)
How's it look to you guys, on what browsers?
And a couple other tests:
grrrr
AAARGH!!!
tiny sweat-drop
suspicious gaze
kitty cat
smaller kitty
Scottish Fold kitty
don't hurt meeee!
♡♥⟡ heart heart sparkle
(End of test 1)
All but the last one of the "couple other tests" showed up in Firefox 3.5 as squares with little letters or numbers in them here in the text box while I typed. Same with preview. The Gil sign and hearts/sparkle showed up on my end though.
Edit: Switching the rendering engine to IE (whichever version that plug-in uses) made everything, including the Gil sign, into just a square. Except the two hearts. Sparkle was a square.)
Additional edit: Most of those things I tried were a random mix of fonts. Will track them down specifically later; I don't think they were my Fixedsys substitute.
