Aw maaaan.... it'll actually close later this year I guess, but still... That's sad. I mean sure, the page editor was crap, but it was familiar crap with all kinds of memories attached. It wasn't bad for free, it did enough for simple pages, or for garish hilariously cluttered ones.
I've got several I'll have to rescue files from, will do so in the summer when they'll have more details about getting your files.
Really sad. Guess it's all about the messed-up, crash-prone MySpace n stuff now for people wanting to make free web pages.
It may have been Geo-shitty, but I'll still miss it. So many good things from the past have indeed evaporated, such as HotBot having its own excellent search engine (now it just uses other search engines as a hub). I hate seeing unique online species go extinct... Much like the varieties of groceries disappearing in stores...

And lots of people just don;t hand craft websites anymore they just get a shitty myspace site (which looks like the angelfire blinky blingie pages of 98) and chock full of crashy goodness like 10 slideshows, 10 different media players playing 10 different songs, all kinds of blingy gifs of unicors and bunnies, and an animated gif bg with the most horrendous colors.
or they got bookfacepalm (facebook) and that's the older folks version of myspace with lots of 30 somethings posting 200 pics of thier toddler's tea party with 5 different slidr apps with him smearing spagetti all over his head, the top 10 reasons this politician sucks with 10 youtube vids, and they blog about every waking moment with thier dog...... and thier favorite move list that takes up half the page.

No Sephy, she's pretty much hit that nail on the head many times Both Myspace and Facebook suck. Still, I do like my "teen emo bullshit". I may not fit with the teen part, but I am lately becoming more emo, and my life is full of large loads of bullshit :/ And why the harsh use of STFU? No reason she has to like facebook just because you do. Opinions vary
