Why dont we have a thread for good buys and new computer tech? Well we do now.
Although this would make my desktop roar even louder than before... I'd want this for my PC for the quad-monitor support (8x if you crossfire it) along with the 1GB of dedicated video memory, it would help overcome my lack of a dual core processor a little. Now if it could only fix Supreme Commander's bad coding... www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102813I will get my room to this point... I swear!

This is funny. Now you are able to get a full fledged mac OSX install on pc hardware with the EFI-X chip that connects to the USB headers (not the ports but the actual connection on the board itself or called leads if you will) on your MotherBoard. (laptops currently NOT supported) www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/efi-x-usb-v1-reviewed/The reson macosx does not install on pcs is becuase they use something in thier own computers that replaces the BIOS called Extensive Firmware Interface or EFI, and it basically replaces BIOS functions and adds extras. It is known for its drive management capabilities. And basically this chip in a way "emulates" having an mac EFI. It is a full EFI but you must have a certain hardware profile to have the mac compatibility since they code the EFI to only support a few profiles. And EFI-X works on those alot. They add new ones periodically. This is a very cool solution to coders, game devs, software testers, reviwers, etc. Or those who just dont want mac hardware or just want a tri-pc (mac-win-lin) to have the best of all 3 worlds.

i was wondering when something like this would come along. ive always wondered why so much of a desktop case is empty space, i'm guessing standardized shapes and sizes of components stopped manufacturers from changing too much of it to avoid having proprietary parts. this seems to be comparable to a full desktop but without all that wasted space. cram some more sata ports on there and i'd be happy having a stack of peripherals (more hard drives and a dvd drive) sitting near/on top of it. now if only those flexible lcd screens would progress further, i could have a portable work station/game platform. or maybe i could just get a beefy laptop instead.

If they had a better GPU in it I would be very happy and get one. I now it may be enough for casuals, but that would run things like WoW or light games like that. But it wouldn't be able to play fallout 3 or anything. If I can have something like that in a size that small I would be as excited as billy mays about cleaning his bathroom. He he.
but Go Nvidia! they actually are releasing things instead of being vapo-rific!
