Heeeeey folks! As many of you know, as mentioned on the main DZX page, I've been working (really hard, and really longtime) on an AMV. It might now be complete! Gonna get the final word from a couple DZX members whenever they're ready to let me filesend. I do need to find out if the brightness and color levels are alright since my video card is wonky about brightness. (I had to install the drivers for a totally different video card, not even the same brand, to get brightness control so everything didn't look like Doom 3! ) Anywaaaaay... For those who don't know, the video is simply the Haruhi crew (and a few from Lucky Star), dancing to and singing "Big Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall. Current working title: "I Ain't Marryin' No Friggin' Horse!!!" It's a good title, relates to a theme of the lyrics, and it's catchy. People on the .org would see that and be like "Whaaaat?!" and click on it. People at cons would be like "Whaaaat?!" and watch. So it does the job. But, it doesn't very well indicate the main focus of the video: Singing n dancing n stuff. Some folks might click it hoping to see some kinda comedy sketch about bestiality or something, and be disappointed. So, I'm open to suggestions. When the vid is given the go-ahead, I'll give y'all a few days to watch it if you think it'll help you come up with any. Either way, post away! (Already considered: "Big Black Horse and a Haruhi" but... ehhh... nah.)
AC: Changed thread title - the AMV was released!

(This is ZaCloud at RC's house, using her account so I don't log her out) LOL @ above Definitely catchy at least, lol. XD Though yeah, the misleadingness leads to the same dilemma as the current working title... Might need to be MORE random. Thought of a couple more possibilities... "Horse Proposes. Haruhi Refuses. Haruhi Sings and Dances." or "Haruhi Musical Tutorial: Saying NO to Bestiality" or "Haruhi Sings About Not Being Attracted to Horses" I dunnooooooo... (And dangit I don't remember the login info for the ftp, somebody PM me it please, CuteFTP ain't bein' so cute about memorizing stuff I told it to memorize. >_< )

My pick is A Big Black Horse and a Cherry Haruhi: Live and Uncut... [HA*RU*H.I]**[S*A*D] Horse Avoidance. Ransacked Undercarriage. Haruh.I Sing and Dance. or the ever clever... No, no, no, no-no-no-no

Hehehe... Well, I guess I'm most considering these two at this point: "Haruhi Sings About Not Being Attracted to Horses" and "No No, No No-No-No" (Variant of AC's suggestion" Here eez ze leenk until I decide, then I'll have to reupload if I do change the title so I can fix the credit sequence. Watch, enjoy, suggest, cast votes. www.dzxproductions.com/Downloads/friggin-horse.mp4(And to let everyone know, it's now official: My animemusicvideos.org nick is now ZaCloud. I got it changed since most folks know me as that anyway, plus now no more slipping-up with the dashes and underscores of _Ice-Angel_ anymore. I'll update my info page thingies when I have time if nobody else gets to 'em first. )

Since the website / DZX stuff is on my mind today, I'll update your name in the respective pages.
I had a good chat with ideas and stuff about the AMV. I noticed lots of things in the AMV, but was astonished to hear the surface of what went on. Oi!
Say the word when you want the DZX posted release.

Well, I've released it on animemusicvideos.org where it's getting a mixed reception (both due to legitimate differences of opinion, and also due to some folks mistaking 'unique' for 'incorrect' ) I think it'll do better when the VCAs come next month, when it'll be scouted specifically for lip-sync and such. I might wait till after Detour to put it on YouTube, but we'll see...

NOTE: your biggest complainer has the "blender" 3d logo in his sig. People that use it have been on the snobby side. Do not take these people seriously, since that application is not "seriously" good. LOLz. Also those people expect alot of bling in the videos. I thought your vid was very good, sometimes you gotta go back to basics and enjoy the simple things sometimes.
If you would have added the background scenes like he wanted the vid would lose it's simple charm. Simple song, simple vid. The song is ambiguous (or however you put it) so the vid doesn't have to go with the song so much. Just a simple dance to a catchy song. Plus it looks like she is doing this dance to tell off the person mentioned or something like that and it fits it.
The lyrics are kinda high-schoolish and this also fits the scenes. Don't listen to some of the haters they expect alot of the all out angsty linkin park and blazing action scenes enough to give you a headache kinda vids. I've seen them and they are too much for the senses. Might have been the same person I saw one on YT and it had 3d elements to it and it was like too much. I prefer amvs to be simple and easygoing.
If the armor is badass but has a bad fit it is not as effective. Like I thought the death note hardcore intro was cool and all but the music did not fit the anime so much since the song was hard edged and badass but the anime was slick and cool. the intro also had way more effects and coloring and stuff then the anime actually did. You gotta kep a balance to the anime and there you have a "pure" vid witch is the best kind becuase it fits with the series and also has that "official" feel to it. Makes it more professional and not the gawdy overdone amvs where it seems misplaced with the series.
cute simple anime does not = badass hardcore heavy metal and 1000s effects songs unless it is specifically done has an "unfitting music" type. but cute anime + cute song = squee! not death! LOLz!
I would not change a single thing about that vid you did awesome with it! XD!

Awww, thanks for the critique and encouragement sis. *feels all warm n fluffy inside* It's alright though, the way I see it, the majority of AMV fans are used to AMVs being like movies... while my vid is more like a theatrical production. It's more of choreography of a dance, than editing a video. Sometimes despite folks wanting something "different", if it's too different then they have a hard time dealing with it. Or as I put it to AC in a convo... I brought an apple to a picnic where everyone else is mulling over the usual oranges. Some people don't like apples and that's fine (in fact the majority seem to be orange fans). So them just going "Sorry, I don't like apples" is just fine and personal taste. It's the ones that go "Your apple fails at being an orange" that get my goat. Cuz I think it's a perfectly fine apple, and I never tried to make it pretend to be an orange. So, the problem comes with comparing apples and oranges. This here apple's sweet and crispy, so if anyone wants some they should hopefully enjoy it, as that's who I brought it for, people who like apples! ^_^ Hehe, ok, enough with the metaphors. Anyway, thanks again for your input Liz, you clearly put a lotta thought into it. My vid does what I wanted it to do, so I'm satisfied with it whether other folks are or not. And I think it'll do a little better in the context of the VCAs. We'll seeeee!
