I decided to take the plunge and give learning the guitar a try Surprisingly, I didnt have to spend too much on my setup. The guitar itself was low in the usual price range for electric guitars. Only other things I got were a practice amp and a case. Ill confess though, this was a long time ago in May, back when I had my mill job. Just an indicator of how much posting Ive been putting off! Ive got a couple easy songs down already, including the theme song from M*A*S*H. Maybe Ill be back to this thread with more pics, or some audio in the future.

Ooh, it is pretty...Squier ain't bad at all. Decent pickups and an overall larger look (which I prefer as a bassist). Classic black with the shiny finish just makes it even nicer. A good standard. Ftw, dude. Ftw.

Ftw, dude. Ftw. I knew there was something special about this guitar as soon as I saw it. It had a great price point, and it had a humbucker, plus 2 more pickups, the former being one of the only specific features I was looking for in a beginner guitar. I looked at Yamahas because I like their quality, but they jump up $450+ on average. After playing with mine though I agree, Squier is a nice brand for learning; good quality materials, and it stays in tune. I recommend them to new guitarists. Hopefully Ill be able to pick up some songs made famous here at DZX in our videos. >:3
