You know, I've been wondering something lately. How much time has actually passed in the RPG. I've been retracing Bax's steps since...2004, probably...and trying to figure out how long our characters have been at this through the past 4 or 5 years.
And from the way things worked out in my calculations, it looks like 3-5 months, which is probably a low guess.
But it seems to be that:
Bax met and fought with Sephiroth X within a day or two of getting to Earth. Then they were captured by the Senate and kept there for, probably up to a week (I don't remember anymore). Then they struggled in the Desert of the Dead for a while. Then we lost some info, but the next big things were Pyramid Head taking over the hospital and then becoming Valtiel after his fight with Dark Crono and indwelling by Necrostiana. Then Sephiroth X went off to Zion, and Bax went to save him. When he came back, he had his first encounter with the Holy Order of the Magi and was saved by Prodigi and Zack. Another weird time glitch, and they ended up fighting a second worm of Valtiel's creation.
If I think enough about that, that seems like about a month to a month and a half's worth of action. Maybe 2. Is that too little?
The next thing I have records of was when people were laying low for a while (a couple weeks to a month, maybe), and then Bax got caught up in Lynx's quest and went to Nibelheim. The whole Nibelheim ordeal, including wandering about the desert and getting back to Midgar, might have taken two weeks. From there, they went directly to the Super City for the Battle for the Element of Prosperity. So this section, with the break, was maybe, again, about a month and a half to two months.
After that, our heroes laid low in the Super City and Midgar while waiting for Valtiel to do his thing. From what I recall, for a little under 2 weeks.
And we've come about 36-48 hours so far in this saga, officially. It's the next day and probably getting close to dark. So....
*does some math*
That's about 3.5-4.5 months worth of time by my calculations. Which doesn't seem like a lot of time since we've been at this for several years. But we couldn't have it taking years. None of our characters have had birthdays! I don't think. It feels like the natural progression of an RPG, which actually tends to feel like only a couple of weeks, or maybe months, from crazy start to leveling up to level 99 and bashing in the almighty evil's face before realizing that THERE'S AN EVEN MORE ALMIGHTY EVIL'S FACE TO BASH IN!
