As some have found out by now, I've discovered the uses of the RPG Maker program and am starting up a small attempt to recreate the first storyline arc of the PLRPG into a turn based RPG format.
Currently I'm attempting to determine which version of RPG Maker i'm going to use along with refining a few elements of the battle system I will use.
Whilst doing the things listed above, I'm currently working on some basic convept art for some of the main environments in the PLRPG that would appear in the game (Zion, Bax's ship, Midgar, etc.). And believe it or not, I could use a little bit of help with some layouts for the main cities. I've already doodled up some overhead layouts for the bridge of Bax's ship and Zion, but I'm having a little bit of artist block when trying to do an overhead for the City of Midgar.
If a few of the DZXers could possibly work on their own overheads of Midgar it would help me tremendously, and I could adapt different aspects from everyone's layout of the city into a more final layout. Now before anyone would work on something like this, I do have a few base rules of what Midgar would be like.
I'll try to work up my own interpretation of Midgar whilst I can and post it here as well. Thanks you for the input and I'll try to include more of my concept art later.

- Although it shares the same name as the FF7 city, its appearance shouldnt completely reflect it (IE: there is no giant metal plate above the city)
- The city should have sections that are thriving and sections that are definate slums
- There is a main central building in the center of Midgar (whether or not it is identical to the Shinra building in FF7s Midgar has never been specified)
- There are a few essential buildings that are in Midgar. Including a run down slums gym, a church, a hospital, police station, and movie theatre. (Most of said specified buildings are also mentioned in Waffle King's "The Fall of Midgar" post).
