awesome I'll probably be all over the place. One of my cosplays will be Blindfolded Riku from the KHII trailer. So I'll be very covered up and Lucy, the one you see in my avatar, and hopefully I'll get my Femme Jiraiya done!

As soon as my computer decides it doesn't hate me anymore, I'll post a linky poo to some con pics as well as some brief footage of an epic battle. There are about 60-70ish total. Not too shabby seeing as how we were only there for 8 hours at most

Quick little con-review: It was neat to be at a new con. Interesting, but imbalanced and a bit disappointing in substance. The video rooms were huge for the sparse crowds in the few events we even peeked at or went to, but the video game rooms (two tiny rooms) were waaaay too small, extremely claustrophobic (especially the music-game room, predictable I guess). We got no maps, just a schedule. Which revealed that all the goodstuff happened on Friday and way early Saturday. This, being abnormal for conventions, was unexpected and disappointing as we didn't get to see the AMV contest, just the overflow. But while many of those vids sucked, many also ruled, and overall it was worth it. The people taking care of audio levels were good and alert, compensating for the different volume levels fairly quickly rather than letting us suffer through some vids and strain through others. The artist/crafter tables were spread throughout the whole convention center, so instead of one secluded place, they got exposure from just about everyone on their ways to other events, which I think is a great idea, using the spaceous halls very efficiently. The dealers rooms (yup, two again) were crowded but not unbearably so, and once more space was well used. Much easier to navigate than Otakon in fact. Not as vast, but still full of plentiful varieties of goodies. In the end though, it was the fandom itself that made it worthwhile. The scores of fans, the awesome costumes, the creativity that went into them, the general comradery that just plain happens at anime conventions... all that was a powerful catalyst for fun. Oh yeah, and the food/drink there was actually 1, affordable/decent value for sheer amount, 2, of extreme variety and accessibility, being right there within the convention center and containing a huge bunch of different restaurants, and 3, relatively relaxing, with plenty of tables/chairs. Even a decent internet terminal spot for 15 cents a minute, which is a lot more reasonable than some other places we've been to. If we had been there all three days, we'd doubtlessly have found things a lot more awesome to do, and would have learned our way around fairly quickly, as the layout of the building despite multiple floors wasn't too complicated. But rating based on our actual experience of what we'd expected to be a peak day, I personally give our trip to Ohayocon a technical score of 2/5, but an enjoyment score of 4/5. Cuz if there's passionate anime fans gathered in much makeup and foam, then there's great fun to be had! By the way, was awesome meeting up with you, Smtemp! Sorry that my social skills have atrophied so much ^_^;; Hope you fared well with your merchandise and whatnot! (One of our group bought one of the bunny hats! ;D Sooooo cute, it was!) (I got a $5 chibi Cloud Strife ala FF7:AC keychain from the dealer's room, couldn't help myself, it's cute-cool )
