*Sephiroth X discarded his commandeered motorcycle in a desolate back alley in the outskirts of the Midgar slum district. He felt entering the city in a semi-fashionable way might alter too many people to his presence, including the person whose presence he was tracking.
Midgar wasn’t the place he was hoping to end up, ever since those couple of incidents he was virtually an outcast from his hometown. Yes, Midgar was one of things Sephiroth X did remember about his past. He never remembered actually growing up, just remembered living out his daily life in the city. It was a good life too, until that one day…
Sephiroth X was lurking the slum’s alleyways mostly, he always kept away from big groupings of people… knowing his luck, some bastard would blindside him and take him out without X even knowing who did it. X mostly kept to himself, didn’t like getting into big commotions unless forced too, he went by the theory off “this isn’t my fight”. Well the one day X decided to discard that rule turned out to be the day it would bite him in the ass. He was walking down a foggy alley and he heard some lady scream from a window two floors above the building next to him, X didn’t know what to do at first but in this time decided to stop whatever the hell was going on. He spring boarded himself off the small alley’s walls and crashed through the window and quickly drew out his sword. He saw a lady being attacked by a big burly main with a knife. The woman had already been stabbed a couple times, one wound appeared it could have been vital but he wasn’t sure. The big guy was shocked to see someone come to her aide, not to mention through the window on the second story of a building. The man threw his knife at Sephy X and X simply deflected the knife away with a small slash from the Masamune and the knife flew out the window and landed in a dumpster below.
The man’s face doubled over in fear as X’s filled with anger, if there was one moral X had to himself it was never to attack a lady especially a defenseless one. So Sephiroth X quickly slashed at the attacker with the Masamune, killing him almost instantly. Blood trickled on the floor as X quickly went over to the woman and tried to comfort her as help came. X was down on one knee with the woman in her arms, she gave him her gratitude but it was too late as she breathed her final breathe and then died.
Moments later the Midgar military police burst through the door guns at the ready. What they saw was a man dead from a vicious sword wound and a lady dead from stabs, and a strong looking silver haired man with a long sword at his side.
“Freeze!” The first man of the MMP screamed.
“This isn’t what you think it might be.” Sephiroth X quickly responded.
“We’ve heard that one before mister, drop the… large sword and put your hands on your head!” Another MMP barked out.
“I’m serious! The knife this guy had is down in that dumpster!” X explained as he quickly darted towards the window and looked down, he couldn’t find the knife since it was within the dumpster below.
*The MMPs quickly became alert upon X’s dash to the window, thinking he might escape.
Another MMP barked out, “Damnit! He’s gonna try to escape shoot him!”
*X looked at the MMPs in fear for a moment seeing the gun barrels aim at him, then his face quickly shifted back to confidence as he quickly brought the Masamune back to a battle stance.
The MMPs quickly opened fire at X, but X’s keen speed with his sword and legs proved too much for the guns. Bullets were blocked and deflected in every direction except for into Sephiroth X’s body. After the initial clips from the MMPs emptied, X dashed at the group of police and violently slashed at them all. The Midgar Military Police barely stood a chance, they were all down on the ground dead around X who stood still grasping the Masamune.
“@#%$…” Sephiroth X slowly said.
*He knew he was in a predicament, he basically framed himself and then slaughtered a small group of Midgar’s finest… he knew how the Midgar Military Police worked, if you killed ONE you were pretty much dead or a lifer… killing off a small unit, X would have the whole city of Midgar on him before long. X knew he should get outta town and lay low for a while, so he made his exile from Midgar quite and unknown.
X kept in touch with the Midgar current events on and off, just to find out his own status. The news of his ‘murders’ was the talk of Midgar for a few weeks. But when the rest of the MMP were unable to find the lone fighter the case was pretty much scrapped. Just enough people to be considered a ‘majority’ did believe Sephiroth X was innocent, it was rumored that some hobo off the streets actually found the knife X said was in the dumpster. Others, mostly of the high class prissy type, felt that Sephiroth X was guilty because of his street residence, saying that the knife was probably an impromptu weapon of self defense.

*And now Sephiroth X had returned to Midgar, he only hoped he was out of the public eye finally. He did know he was gone for the good portion of two years, and with the ungodly high crime-rate in Midgar within the last few months a one-caser like the “Sephiroth X” file was probably long forgotten.
The presence Sephiroth X felt from the crashed ship had to be in Midgar, X could almost sense the trail this man left behind. If the aura of this guy actually could leave some kind of ‘trail’ behind him, the man himself must be one hell of a fighter.
The trail itself though wasn’t constant, it was traceable only in certain spots. If Sephiroth X could somehow master this ‘ability’ of his, he probably could pick up a full trail of the guy and probably the guy himself. But for now he’d have to be a follower, and the trail led him to a small restaurant.
X slowly walked inside, the place smelt like burnt food and cigars. X quickly noticed that drifters frequented this place, the bikes outside and the scruffy drifters inside the restaurant were a give away. Now X had to deal with the possibly of the drifters finding out of X’s encounter with the small group at the ship. He knew the drifters even in full force probably couldn’t take him, but starting a ruckus in Midgar with the MMP searching every nook and cranny for a madman killer wouldn’t be a good thing since technically he was a wanted man anyway. Suddenly as X stood at the bar, a blue skinned scaled man with a nametag “Mike” approached him.
“Hello there sir, is there anything I can help you with? You look tired, wanderer from the desert?” Mike said.
“I’m looking for someone, a man who came here from the desert at longest a day or two ago.” X explained.
The blue skinned Mike stared at X for a short moment and then slowly responded, “Nobody has been in here that isn’t a frequenter, you’re the first new blood in here for a long time now. Since so many people are afraid of crossing the desert nowadays. And this killer on the loose has made Midgar’s immigration rate plummet.” Mike kept on talking then suddenly turned around and walked for the entrance to the back room of the restaurant, “I have many things I must do… If you want some food or drinks just call for me and I’ll take your order.”
*As the blue skinned man walked away X gave a cold stare. When Sephiroth X mentioned the guy from the crash it made Mike go stoic for a moment, and then he gave a quick speech about no new guys around. X could always tell if somebody was lying to him, and not being given the truth always bugged X. Mike was protecting this man, he knew it. It was time for answers, just as Mike walked through the backroom door X stood up and followed.
When X entered the room he saw Mike alone washing some dishes, his back was turned to X so he didn’t know X followed. X slowly walked up behind Mike.
“I said… I’m looking for someone who came in here within the last two days.” X again stated.
