Further information
This con is a nice convention. It's social and every year is run rather well (although there has been some turmoil for the staff as of late.)

I cannot say if Nobrand is Detour circa a couple years ago, but I do know that these two conventions typically clash with each other on terms of dates. The Video game room is run by a splendid person by the name of Chief and it's never meant to disappoint.

The guest DJ's are not only have a short concert each, but teaming together to bring us an awesome dance this year like they did last year. You want a crowded dance? Go to Nobrandcon.

The Convention is run rather smoothly despite lots of headbutting within staff. But I will guarantee you will have a fun time, since there is typically lots of stuff to do at the con.

What does the lineup look like? Does anyone have a room registered?

So yeah this con happened.

It wasn't the best con in my memory, but still worth traveling for.

Highlights:
* Richard Horvitz (Alpha-5, Dagget, Psychonauts, Metal Gear Solid 4).
* Chief's videogame room.
* Protomen panel.
* Hotel bar is perfectly placed (but WTF why one bartender?).
* Meeting a Mario 3 near-equal while playing Challenge Edition. Got past Wendy's airship in world 3 with his insight!
* Finding the secretive panel (wasn't described in the book) and thus learning a little bit more about the founders of the convention. After all, I'm about understanding the behind the scenes stuff. Still a while to go to get their inside jokes, if I would care to.
* Lots of Mii's to collect. Lots of "You're Fantastics" to go around. Personal messages answered.

Lowlights:
* Those "Costume is not consent" signs. Fuck militant feminism. You dress that way for attention, otherwise you'd have worn bluejeans and a loose fitting T-shirt (male or female).
* In the revenge of the VCR Late night panel, the VCR got revenge (no picture).
* Pool's closed (somebody pulled a Ric Flair gusher on broken glass).
* Never was clear-minded enough to play any card game in the tabletop room.
* Hoodies are in fashion. Oh well, wear one and I look about 7 years younger and like CM Punk in his entrance attire.
* Found no real outlet to express my creativity or ability in a nonverbal fashion. Fucking introversion, instead of being charged by smalltalk and superficial conversations, it's talk and slowly drain soul away until empty, then hide in room and recharge, repeat. At least I was observing at how bad others were at conversation (and how bad they were at identifying cosplay characters even obvious to oblivious me) as well, so it's not like I was sulking the whole time.
