As for time of arrival, obviously do what you can, but this is a lateafternoon-evening-night-latenight-midnight-aftermidnight-earlymorning type event.
I don't think shiny happy people is going to be allowed for or provided to happen, but I know you guys are resourceful and will find something to take its place.
