Late night in the slums of Midgar, three drifters lean on their motorcycles drinking some beer in an alleyway under a dim streetlight. A radio is blasting metal while the drink and talk of all the things they've done that day.
Drifter 1: "...and I just hit 'em with this crowbar and took his cash" *holds up a bloody crowbar* "he never new what hit 'em."
The drifters all laugh. Midway throught their disgusting laughter, the radio catches a bit of interference for a second. The second drifter stops laughing and glances at the radio.
Drifter 3: "Hey man, whats wrong with you?"
Drifter 2: "Heh, nothin'." *shakes his head and takes another swig of beer*
The radio turns back to static and the streetlights flicker and buzz, the drifters all stare at the radio with a puzzled expressions. The first drifter walks up to it and hits the radio, no change. They hear heavy footsteps coming from the alley behind them, but its too dark to see what it is. They all turn towards the alley and ready their weapons. The first drifter holds the crowbar while the other two pull out hand guns. The sound of metal scraping against concrete can be heard. The first drifter squints and leans in to try and see whats coming.
Drifter 1: "I...I can't see anythi..."
Just then a huge rusty blade swings down out of the shadows, crushing the drifter down to the ground. The blade slides back and leaves the smashed drifter in a growing pool of blood. Pyramid Head emerges slowly from the shadows and continues towards the other drifters. They both open fire on PH, emptying both of their clips. The bullets either deflect off of his armored head or the wounds on his body close up almost immediatly. The remaining 2 drifters stare in fear as the tank like being presses on through their fire. The drifters fumble for another clip as Pyramid Head swings the huge knife in a downward left cut, breaking one of the drifters legs. The hurt drifter falls to the ground in pain and screams out in agony. The other one looks at his comrade, and then to the attacker. As he is looking back a gloved hand grips his neck and lifts him off the ground. Pyramid Head places his foot on the head of the hurt drifter on the ground, he starts applying pressure to both of them. As PH listens to their screams and radio static, he thinks back to how he used to be.
Images of a courtroom fill his head, a man in an orange jumpsuit with medium length black greasy hair, wrists and ankles cuffed, stands before a judge.
Judge: "You are sentanced to life in prison for the murder of 13 people."
The gavel slams on the bench and sends an echoing crack through the silent room. Two officers take both is arms and escort him out of the court.
The condemed man sits in an empty jail cell, 3 months after the sentancing. The cell door opens and 2 older men wearing suits enter. They tell him they are from The Senate. They offered to give him unimaginable power and the freedom to kill again, but only killing who they see fit. If he would only cooperate and undergo "conditioning" through the use of magic. The prisoner stands, walks towards the men and nods, all three of them leave in a helicopter.
2 days later, the prisoner stands in a dark room in the middle of a huge, glowing symbol. Five men dressed in black hooded robes stand around him. The five men start chanting in deep voices, in an unspoken tounge, a strange prayer. The symbol glows an even brighter red as the prisoner falls to his knees. His head felt like it was about to burst open. The five men chanted louder, the pain increased. The prisoner gives in, he throws his arms outward and stares up at the sky. His body seems to fade out, while another thing seems to fade in. This flickers back and fourth between them for a few seconds, and finally stops, the glowing dies and the chanting stops, a monstrous form kneels on the ground. It stands, now towering over the other men in the room. It looks to its right side, a large sword had appeared there. It picks up the heavy weapon, seemingly light to his new strength. An elderly man in a suit walks out of the darkness and smiles.
The Senator: "Welcome to the Senate, Pyramid Head. You are our new super soldier, you will do as I say and nothing else, do I make myself clear?"
Pyramid Head nods and releases a low rumble from the deapths of his armor. Pleased with what he has gained he decides to see what more the Senate can offer him. He is escorted out by two more men in suits. The arrive in another dark room, this one much smaller than the last, the same glowing symbols painted everwhere, on the walls, floor ceiling. The same except for the fact that the symbols in this room are blue. He is lead to the back wall of the empty room and is left, the heavy steel door shuts behind him. He turns and sees the large shutter on the door close, blue symbols written on that as well. He pounds on the door, even slashes at it, but the symbols seem to some sort of barrier spell. He steps back in disgust, he was promised freedom but given inprisonment again. He just stood their, planning his escape.
That night he overherd the guards talking about this Element of Prosperity thing. PH was intregued by this, it could make him even more powerful than he already was. It could also give him back his human form, but this was a decision for a later time.
Two weeks later, a guard came by to do the daily check of the Senate's new toy. The guard was new and inexperienced. The guard nervously glanced around as he slowly openned the slidding shutter on the door. Before he could look back, an arm shot out of the shutter and grabbed the guard by the face. Only a half a scream got out before his head was crushed and pulled through the openning. Pyramid Head pulled away his dripping hand, looked at it, and began to trace over the blue symbols with blood. Every time he finished one, the symbol would glow red. This continued untill all the symbols were covered. Pyramid Head turned to the door and picked up his weapon, it slowly oppened as if it were beconing him to leave.
None of the building security staff could stop him, he cut the down one by one, trying to find his way out of the building. By the time he got to the exit, night had fallen. He paused as he looked out of the glass doorway, then looked back at the carnage he left behind him. He turned again and left the building through the automatic glass doors. Now he really was free to kill whomever he pleased, and to find the Element of Prosperity for his own purposes.
The distant sound of sirens snapped his mind back to reality, the two other drifters long dead. he dropped them and made his way back into the shadows. The static cleared the radio and the lights stopped flickering just as the police arrived to to find the gruesome scene. This city was getting boring, he thought to himself. He marched his way towards the border of the city, it was time to find the Element.
