welcome wellcome , if your reading this you have been alured by the mighty power of the lazor.
but what do lazors have to do with you and your summer ?
well if you dont live in wisconsin not a whole lot, unless you just really love lazors.
THIS SUMMER i have decided to go ahead with a plan of mine and start buying components for lazor tag. i know a few people have already looked at the current rifle i own, i will link to product info and reviews in a moment, well ive decided to take a few bucks and invest in an active and healthy summer this year! with guns
first things first here is the web site for the product, there home page is a lil too kid friendly but it still gets the point across lightstrike.com, here we have the product listing from wallmart,
www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?Find=Find&_refineresult=true&ic=16_0&search_constraint=0&search_query=light+strike&cat_id=4171
and now for some quick info about the guns and how they work
each gun is a complete system you dont need vest or any thing else one gun and your done. there are upgrades for the rifles that add to game play and strategy.
the pistols are the cheaper buy and do have some good points to them as well. they are smaller, harder to hit, and never run out of ammo. riffles have to reload depending on what type of ammo they are using and the pistols have nice physical buttons on top unlike the rifles full touch screen panel on the left of the gun.
ammo types are an added strategy, there are 4 basic types and then added types for the riffle and then the add ons . the 4 basics are lazer strike, stealth strike, pulse strike and sonic strike.
lazer strike is fast and consumes little ammo also dealing little damage but is great for capturing objective nodes or destroying targets. stealth strike is what it sounds like a quite dulled version of lazer strike complete with mouse fart sound effect, great for stealthy run around. pulse strike is where it starts to get interesting, it consumes more ammo fires slowly but does better damage to shields. Sonic strike is your last or first if your me choice in fire power dealing a massive amount of damage but fires sluggishly and seams to drop off more.
for riffles you have one extra ammo type 4 add ons. the extra ammo type is called rail strike a kinda hybrid of pulse strike and sonic strike firing semi fast semi acrute and seams to do more damage to sheilds.
as for add ons you have an underbarel shot guns of sorts, an underbarrel machine gun, an scope , and a enemy dector. each gun is capable of fiting one of each type at a time and you can swap out parts on the fly
as of now ive only tryed out the shot gun and man is it nice landing three hits at once on a target in an allmost 40 foot long by 6 foot wide cone of damage. the down side is it takes very long for my gun to reload with this atachment hooked up, allmost 3x the reload speed.
the scope offers a type of red dot sight and a one shot one kill sniper function. the enemy tracker is a bit gimmicky unless your in an urban area but it does offer boosted power to all ammo types. and lastly the under barrel machine gun offers a super fast fire rate with tons of ammo so you can unload on an incoming wave of people.
moving on to targets and objective nodes there are actual vest for the system that i haven't got a chance to play around with yet , with a lil more support or interest il most likely pick one or two up and mess around with them.
i do currently own one of the objective nodes , they function great and will add alot to combat and objective type game play, i.e. destroying some ones "base" or fighting for control of an area, the aplications of it have alot of potential.
they have 3 modes of play, bomb, medic, and turret
for the most part they ex-plane them self s but here are some finer details. bomb mode you fight to capture the bomb , land 5 un interrupted consecutive hits, activate and instantly kill any one in almost a 30 foot radius.
medic mode is about the same deal but once captured you shoot it to heal.
turret mode you shoot to control then activate it to automatic shoot any enemy's in a 100 foot radius.
moving on, the best thing about this system is we can play it for the most part where ever we want when ever we want, its for the most part, cheap, cheaper then paint ball or air soft by alot. and the product is durable and functions well.
there are several parks near, and there is a TON of farmland we can play on out by my fathers house, not to mention this product and be used at any con instantly adding more to our walking around and goofing off , imagine playing with these at a rave haha.
this system has alot of potential, i know alot of people in our group are nervous about trying new things but just from the time ive spent messing around with the system i think its a great idea and an awesome alternative to siting on our butts and doing nothing again this summer.
i will personally pick up a few more guns and what not so people can try it out for there own then decide but this is really something i want to see happen for our local group
come on every one lets give this a shot
feel free to ask questions or present concerns below
