A few things that should be noted for this annual DZX convention...
Requested by many during the last Detour, our arrival to the hotel is actually Thursday, April 22nd to prevent any additional stress from traffic, attendees, and luggage issues.
Also, costs have gone up with the hotel and registration. The forum staff member is sure the hotel will adjust the hotel rate, but that is currently $180 in limbo that will be addressed and confirmed. And for some reason, Internet is not included with the room. :/

Well well, I was a wonderin' when thar'd be a postily thing about this con  I'm thar fer sure as long as other folks are gonna go. Gettin' thar on Thursday is a fine idea. ZC an' I do that for Otakon and it's awesome ;D  |

All systems go for AnimeDetour~! I was able to request time off from work. My friend gave me her badge, just need to pay her back once she gets back from Japan & I've got a room already with another group of friends. I'm excited, everything is just money, money, money now.
Still need to get my cosplay together. My main focus for the next couple months. Can't wait to see you DZX guys~ *hug!

hmmm, i'm still on the fence with detour this year. its been slipping downhill every year. more people show up but the amount of room is still the same, as well as costs consistently rising. I'm kind of leaning toward NoBrandCon this year. as it is the weekend after detour, closer, and cheaper. and with my daisho experiences, i seem to enjoy smaller cons more. what say you guys?

Financially, it's not looking likely that I can come either... Stuff's been rough, I haven't been able to take many additional jobs, and I'm not moved out with sis yet. Soooo.... not likely this year... -_-

I'm still on the fence about Detour, to be totally honest. I think Daisho spoiled me a tad simply because it reminded me of what Detour used to be. Detour as far as I'm concerned stopped being Detour 2 years ago and turned into ACen, which as some of you remember was a con we all in general thought was very "meh" when we went.
I don't fault Detour for trying to haul in more money, but I just prefer the smaller more sociable cons over what Detour is now. As of right now I'm on the "no" side for attending Detour, but I have till the end of the month to change my mind.

Hmmm... ok. Is there enough interest for NoBrandCon then? The main hotel is already booked and we'd have to try for an overflow hotel. At best, it would be 2 blocks away / worst case it would be 10 min away. What about the other usual attendees - Sin, Red Wolf, Sithius, etc? Get them in here! |

No Brand Con does sound fun & closer to home for you guys. I already can't go to Anime Milwaukee & No Brand Con because of my job & asking time off. *sigh~ Hope you guys have fun which ever con you guys go, want to see you guys again soon. (><, )

I likes me some Detour, but whichever y'all decide on is fine with me ^_^ The main reason I even go is so I can chill with y'all ;D I'm not 100% sure if I will be able to attend, but the chances of me doing so are at about 60% at THIS moment. But please make up your minds soon so I can get to putting in for the time off @_@ Mooly needs one hell of a notice for vacation time.

I'm would like to go with the Mid-State crew but they've got like 6 people going at the moment so I'm not sure if they'll have room come April. You guys got room for me? I've already registered and would hate for it to go to waste.

I've already registered and would hate for it to go to waste. Unless anybody says otherwise, only two of DZX's usual attendees have registered and/or attending as of yet. It's definitely hard to recommend the cost of the hotel with few people going. >_< Can you confirm the attendees with the MSTC crew and find out if they have a room yet? |

Yeah I'll have to see what the Mid-State people are up to for sure, I guess worst comes to worst one of them can bring an extra vehicle. I'm not sure about rooms with them if they wanna cram in the whole group to just one small room like last year. lol

I prefer going to NoBrand over Detour this year. Anyone else care to confirm their decision? This way we can start making plans.

C'mon guys! DECIIIIIIIIIIDE PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!! Why are most of yuns ignoring this thread this time around??? What the crap happened to all of you? Iz you zombehz?! Or do y'all just not want to go to either of them??? Either way, make them voices heard so people know if plans should be made or not. My chances of going to either is climbing decently (and if things continue as they are with that, I may be able to kidnap Sam as well) and I would love to see everyone again ;_; *huggles all of you* And as I said before, I need one hell of a notice to take time off from Mooly @____@ *crosses fingers on the chance that SOMEONE, ANYONE will post something more definitive in here* |
