All the necessary info about this thread and stuff was moved from the Detour thread.
Alright heres the deal guys, I really like doing these competitions and my plan for this year is to compete in the tournament in any way that I can. And yes, I want to do this so badly that I'd even go to the legnths of finding extra members at the con to fill places if need be. Really though, I DONT want to do that, what Im hoping for is that I inspire enough interest so I can get at least a few of the original band members back together again. Competing in this thing would just feel strange if I didnt have DZX as my crew.
We had so much fun at the last one, we met people, and AC even stated that the Battle of the Bands made his convention. If we enter, we will rock once again, and I really don't think we could lose.
So that being said, as of right now Double Baconator IS signed up for the Rock Band competition. I chose the following songlist just so we could have a songlist saved in reserve:
Hello There: - 1:41
Timmy - 2:22
Highway Star - 6:07
I chose these for a number of reasons, trying to keep the interests of the band in mind at all times. For one, unless a miracle happens and Jon manages to get in line for at-door registration, he will not be attending the convention. So for now, I have asked Zacloud to fill the gap. Which is why I chose Timmy.
I figured since she would be in the band we could utilize her awesome screaming skills. Me and Zacloud will switch off between bass and vocals just for that song, and X (if hes still interested, he seemed at about a 60% interest level last I talked to him) would take up the righteous position of Lead Guitar for all songs. As for the drummer. Im not sure if sithius wants to compete yet. NOTICE: Sithius, If you dont want to compete, you will be replaced! You're damn good at drumming, and it'd be a shame if you didn't want to be cool with the rest of DZX.
But back to the songs. I picked Highway star for a number of reasons. It was our original song choice, I can score well on it on Expert, its got some epic guitar solos, some epic lyrics, and its so long that if we wanted to change out for another song later on, we could put almost anything in there we wanted. This list isin't set in stone, and I'm sure theres still pleanty of songs left to choose from. So this weekend if we all meet up we could discuss song choices and whatnot.
Detour is less than four weeks away. The question is, will DZX rock Minneapolis Live at Detour?
