To let involved folks know, I have used the new hotel system on Otakon's site to reserve the Radisson again for '09. The discount is very delicious compared to before... $149/night! But they didn't allow reserving a day before (Thurs-Fri night), though they did allow Sun-Mon. I did book a regular-rate night for Thursday, though I'll get on the phone with 'em in the near future and see if I can either negotiate the con-rate, or at very least have the same room or something not too far away. If not though, we might hafta move our stuff Friday morning. I'll do my best to get it sorted out though! I promise! There's a lot of time, so spaces might open back up to get an in-line reservation. Other hotels will also become available on the system, so if something cheaper comes along I'll make a snatch at it too, then everyone can decide what we're gonna do. And now for something heartwarming: Random acts of kindness. 26,000+ people, yet so few actual hooligans among the con-going numbers, and so many awesome, honest people. Surfing the boards I found this thread. It makes me smile. Wow all the more reason to go then LOLz. I just hope the economy don't shit itself before then. We will have to make some arrangement to go to some kinda close con tegether!
