What's with all this post con depression crap? I personally have never been in a better mood, knowing ACen and other cons are right around the corner! In fact, I've never been more pumped! So yeah, with the con only being about a month and a week away, I guess its time for this thread to be revived. I am definetly going this time, so put me on your current invite list. (to avoid the pre-Detour scramble that happened last time) And smtemp, this time YOU WILL TAKE MY PICTURE!  My costume will contain infinite levels of "pwn", so much so that it will create intense amounts of gravimetric pressure on your shutter button.  |

Hahah Ok I can start the list too... Peeps going: ~Me ~AZ ~Waffles ~AC ~Sqiky ~Sephy ~Pana ~Pana's Sister ~Tara ~Tara's Friend *cosplayed as KH2 Rikku @ Detour* ~Casey =11 People $23/person I currently only have one room reserved, but the rooms are also more expensive than Detour. They're finally organizing party rooms So we'll most likely be able to have the party. No alcohol can be served at the party since most of the members are under 21 and we'd have to card people. You guys might want to make posters announcing the party ^_^ I'll look into where it'll be appropriate to hang them. Or you guys could make flyers to hand out to people. Leave an area open to write in the room number once we know what it is. ^_^ |

OH GUYS and the Deadline for the AMV contest is this weekend! >.< I wish I would have checked sooner. Apr. 1st is the deadline. acen.org/2006/mv_contest.htmlI'm going to try and get mine in... Shipping it overnight today... There are many different categories. The contest will run 2.5 hours long. They prune the videos so it only goes that long. Videos not shown in the contest are shown at other times during the con. |

btw...about the AMV Contest. X mentioned he can't enter his Advent Reloaded since it contained video game and not anime footage. Is this correct? I'm almost positive that he could though.
Another thing... I was reading about their video specifications. Does it absolutely have to be HUFFYUV or DV and 720x480 Frame Size?
Iria is unable to enter since it was made too long ago.

actually according to my sources the deadline (due to popular demand) has been extended to the 15th. www.acen.org/forums/showthread.php?s=94d0de0d419579a479413a74e091a833&t=10670&page=2read that thread aaaaaaand i hate to burst your bubble AC, but any video that was created before April 1st 2005 (a year before this years deadline) is ineligable for entry. It also says any videos previously shown at another convention are automatically disqualified. |

the're so anal about this because it's an immensely larger con than Detour was.. so I can imagine the influx of entries they get. |

AC I just checked in the forums and you CAN submit Advent Children videos since it's a Japanese video game/footage. As long as it's game/animation footage from Japan it's acceptable.

Yeah, after following your link and checking through the site again, I found the answer.
Widescreen / black bars are also accepted, so its clear for Advent Reloaded and Remember Me.
As for your video problem, we (X or I) could run your video through Virtual Dub and make it Huffyuv / resize it. Since Huffyuv is rather lossless, you wouldn't lose picture quality.

I think I have it all figured out. I tried the exported version on Waffle's computer and it was fine. I fixed the subtitle issue with the letterbox feature.
