Alright, so it's been a while since I've updated this, but since I've been playing again, I spose I should update all of you.
Even though the game has been fully translated and the english version is ready to go, Sega of America refuses to start the US/EU version of PSO2. Why you ask? Because of the "gambling" system the game uses.
Now as far as I knew, gambling was when you used money to try and get more money from it. Dictionary.com describes this as gambling:
What doesn't make sense to me is the fact that you can gain more money, more dollar bills/euros/yen/etc from this game. You can buy content from it, but nothing more, which is why my eye brow can get any higher to question why Sega of America considers it gambling.
What exactly is it you ask? Well what it is, is more like a Gashapon. A toy vending machine. A random chance at something you want. You buy AC which is the in-game irl money, you can buy tickets and with this tickets there is a chance of getting multiple things. It's a huge thing in Japan gaming and it does help profits soar when people will keep trying to get at the one item they need. Do I]/b] personally like it? No. I think I would rather pay extra to buy only what I wanted, rather then a chance at something I wouldn't for less. But, that is how the game is. Either way, it Gachapon shouldn't be deemed gambling because it is in no way illegal. If they have such a big issue with it, then just make it the way I suggested. Make a list of items and put prices on them. Either way they would make money so I just do not understand what is going through S.o.A.'s head atm...
ANYWAY, so you want to pray da game? I has teh linkage powa dat will help you to play da game!
For PSO2, here are the links you need to start playing:
The only thing not translated is newer content, and items. We can't translate items because the information is server side only. Because of this, we have a dedicated site that lists all items with the katakana names that you can copy and paste to search or it in shops or so you can figure out what items you have gotten.
If you need help in any other way, just let me know.
It's sort of a lot of work, but you only have to do all that work once. After that, it's pretty EZ.
So as an honorary rappy, I welcome you, to PSO2!
