Ah yes peoples,
I know we're all 'conned-out. But let's keep at it.
Also, if anyone wants kind of a change of pace, the week before is the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee. It's just something I always remember happening, and it's totally dedicated to videogaming (new, golden-era, and tron-era) and arcade gaming (and yawn Pinball ALTHOUGH free play pinball is actually really fun). The vendor tables are amazing. Last year, there was even a Japanese guy selling to-die-for geek stuff (like literally the only copy of Keio Flying Squadron currently in the state). Of course crono goes for the "First Run Sega Prize Figure Featuring Hatsune Miku", very expensive, huh-haw!
The more the merrier. Anyways, the reason I ask all this stuff is in case people want a change of pace, or if it's FULL-SPEED-AHEAD for Kitsune-Kon? OR BOTH!!!
-------- AC: Updated the figure that I found. BRS was a clearance item that was had a manufacturing defect (missing the star on the jacket). The star sticker was included in an envelope with a company apology, which I think is cooler than owning the "fixed" figure. Also, a pretty expensive figure now. ^.^)
Old classic gaming convention... Never expected some cool anime guys selling stuff in the way back corner.

I too have heard the awesomeness of the Milwaukee gaming con. Even though it is more game heavy, I don't think that's going to clash with any of us, and personally think most of us find gaming a bit more intriguing then anime, at least in current days. Both WOULD be epic sauce... No, that IS epic sauce! n_n All I know is that Kitsune is right after me bday, so I'll be partying no matter where I is~ lol!

Just to let everyone know, Kitsune Kons date change puts it on the same weekend as Anime Detour. (As the rainbow said so earlier.) Not that we were really planning on going to it, but it does damper how many people will be attending. Also, for you wrestling nuts, Wrestlemania will be on that Sunday night, and even though it's possible to have an after-con, I'm not sure we're going to have enough energy to last till then.
I was thinking that maybe picking a new con to attend that around that time so we can spare missing out on some traditional fun. Yeah, I loved Kitsune last year, and I'm sure it'll be just as fun, if not more so, this year, but I know I'll feel a little down if it comes to conflict with other things.
On the list of anime cons, we have a few choices to pick from. There is: Anime Milwaukee, February 17-19 in Milwaukee, WI (durr) Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, April 13-15 in Chicago, IL (durrr) Anime St. Louis, April 20-22 in Collinsville, IL (dur-wait, what!? o.o') ACEN (Anime Central), April 27-29 in Rosemont, IL
There is also the Midwest Gaming Classic Whicker mentioned earlier, which wouldn't be too bad, but I'm not too sure how fanatic everyone is about old-school game machines... >>; From what I know, Anime Milwaukee is still a young con, still trying to find it's place in the great circle of cons, and so-far has been better and better every year. They even have a maid cafe! Wait... Maid cafe?? *would totally sign up as Maid Miku ^^* Not too sure what the Chicago Comic & Whatever is. Says it's more of an Expo for all nerdy things, so that means lots of cool things to see and get, but sadly no attendee panels or rave. =( Anime St. Louis, like Anime Milwaukee is a youngin con that is still working out kinks, but have greatly improved. It's about the same size as Kitsune so yay small cons! ^^ I have never been there before so it would probably be a new learning experience for us all! My final suggestion is ACEN. Even though it's a month later then Kitsune, it's a con you need to save for, being freakishly huge and all. I know some of you have had issues in the past with ACEN, and those issues still might exist today, but it's the only other con I've been to, and I loved it each year, not to mention best raves EVER! Their theme for this year is Back to the Future, so I have a feeling it's calling to us. *o*
Well, that is all I wanted to say, and I know I'm jumping the shark a bit here, talking like we aren't going to Kitsune anymore, but I just wanted it to be pointed out and thought over by all of us. Please post what ya think! /)^3^(\~<3-- AC: Updated links

Quite an interesting idea. Instead of the trusty same ol', same ol' round we're been doing, new stuff sounds interestingly interesting. Since it was near your birthday seority, were you going to have other plans for that weekend? Jumping the shark. Wonder how that phrase came into being... and wonder if its as epic as it sounds. <guitar riff> Excellent d00d! What say ye, DZX cohorts? Different conventions?!! Also, a near 5am post. Great scott

Well, just to be clear, the Midwest Gaming Classic would be about as draining as going to a baseball card show (but outside of Milwaukee). Way, way less involved than an anime convention. It's drive there and back on the same day (Saturday) ALTHOUGH one needs to get up at the crack of 8 am (oh the humanity~).
On that note, anime Milwaukee seems intriguing. I really want to try it. Although for me personally, who knows what the future holds, and please don't let my work commitments stop you peoples from having an awesome time somewhere new.
I would want to go to ACEN for the first time, just to get rid of my regrets of not going in 2002 or 2003-- when I lived there. GRRR. Oh, does ACEN's crowds scare you? How about LA's AnimeExpo 2012 (June 29th to July 2nd)? 125,000 people attended in 2011. That both SCARES AND EXCITES ME, and utterly puts me in my place.
Anime St Louis... if the choice was between it and say something in Iowa or Indiana. Yeah. All for it. It seems tiny, though I'm sure we'd make new friends. We live so far north ;_;

Anime Milwaukee is a total no go for me @_@ It's too soon after Ohayocon for me to have funds to get up there. Plus....The last time I was up there when y'all had snow...I almost didn't make it out of Wisconsin alive @~@ Kitsune, Anime St. Lois, or ACEN get my vote. Large cons don't scare me I'm used to 'em cuz of Otakon. Small cons are more relaxed, which makes up for the lack of stuff a bigger con has. I've never been to any of the three. The Expo in Chicago isn't my bag, but I'd go if you all decided to. I mainly go to these things just to hang out with all of you peoples, so it doesn't REALLY matter to me where that happens :3 I live so far south...then east ;_;

Looks like the hotel for anime detour are pretty much full anyways. so that's easy to cross off the list. although if we hurried we could get something across the street at the Sofitel... mmm, noon checkout time.
ANYWHOS, is Kitsune Kon a go? Specifically referencing the people in teh Amherst household... are any of you'se guys able to make it?

Oh yes Wonder, I had an amazing time at Ohayocon last year, even though I worked most of the con. XP The vender room is awesome and there were really cool folks there. So please, save all your moneys for that because I would consider that much more worth-while. =)
I don't mean to dis the people we know Kitsune, just trying to get other opinions in is all. Only reason I stated these was really so we could plan out our fun timez more appropriately. Reasons like my birthday, Wrestlemania and Detour all happening around the same time would be squeezing to much with Kitsune if we went. This is why maybe another con will help space things out so we can enjoy all our fun times without the stressing of time or over-whelment. That, and I kinda miss my ACEN. =< I figured since we do small cons the rest of the year, we can do one big con as a change-of-pace. Thanks for all the feed back though! Glad some are also interested in other cons. ^^
I didn't mean to make us all confused about were to go though, sowwie bout that. ><' Maybe we can take a vote to which con we'd want go to? I know the Amherst people haven't responded yet, which I'm sure they won't mind too much, but we can try to get ahold of them soon for their decisions. ^^ So the Chicago one is a no-go, and I'll sway out Milwaukee too since I personally want to see everyone go (I know we all miss wondersaiyan =[ ) . This leaves St. Louis, ACEN, or Kitsune.
I'm sure we'll have fun no matter where we go, but no harm in picking a favorite. /)^3^(\

i say lets just stick with Kitsune for now. we had fun there last year and we know the DJ awwwww Speaking of being the DJ, I noticed neither Gen nor I have made the list of attendees yet... I can assure you that at this point there's abolutely no way I'm not going. As far as if I'll be staying in the room with everyone else or not, that I dont know. But, it would be nice to point out on the graph that if everyone on the list (including us two) stayed in the same room, it'd further lower the price by almost $16 for everyone. --- As far as the date being on the same day as Detour, I honestly feel your pain, and I feel (being on staff) that fans are wishing that we could have changed the date somehow. I'm still unclear to the exact details of how it all went down as far as who announced their date and when (personally, I seem to remember Kitsune announcing their date before Detour), but there were some other extraneous factors involved; guests, for example. We got the guests we had because we booked them in advance waaaay ahead of time. This is a trend our con director continued for this years Kitsune, so therefore changing the date would have caused a lot of scheduling problems and possibly cancelled celebrities. There were some other factors involved too, but yes, it grinds my gears and it certianly does detract from everything. Even if the weekends were one weekend apart, people might try and make it, but you cant be in two places at once... The other slight annoyance is that we had this problem last year with Milwaukee, which turned out to be quite a bomb, unfortunately. I can assure you we are going to attempt everything possible to try to get a year where we have a weekend "wide open" for everyone.

Bah so I would like to attend Kitsune con this year, and drag Jon with, considering I need to get out of the house, but I need to know if there is going to be room to room with you guys. Mainly because we need a bed to ourselves and I haven't been able to sleep properly on a pull out in a long time. If I have to I'll room with someone else, but I'd prefer to room with everyone else. Please get back to me asap.
